Winter tyres

Winter tyres help increase the grip and are made of a softer compound. But they are not just for snow. From ice to frost, slush to just wet roads, if the temperature dips below 7 degrees you will be better off (accordig to one manfacturer).

You will notice a small bit of difference when braking in hot and dry conditions, but you get better braking when it's wet and especially when it is wet and cold! The tyres may also wear a bit quicker in the summer - but you get far less wear in the winter - so unless you do a lot of mileage it shoudl be a negligible difference.
